Local Business Directory (localbusinessdirectory.in) Effective date: 30 September 2026
The short version
Local Business Directory is a free guide to verified businesses in Delhi-NCR. You can browse it without an account, and we do not ask you to sign up to read a listing.
We collect very little. If you only browse, we see standard visit data through Google Analytics. If you send us a message, submit a business, or leave a review, we keep what you typed so we can act on it. We do not sell your personal information. We do not run a mailing list you did not ask to join. The rest of this page explains the detail: what we collect, why, who else touches it, how long we keep it, and how to ask us to change or delete it. Please read the sections that apply to how you use the site.
Who we are
Local Business Directory is an online directory of local businesses and services across Delhi-NCR, covering areas such as Dwarka, Uttam Nagar, Rohini, Gurgaon, Noida and Faridabad. It is owned and operated by Amit Kumar, from Delhi, India.
When this policy says "we", "us" or "our", it means the people who run localbusinessdirectory.in. When it says "you", it means anyone who visits the site, whether you are a customer looking for a plumber, a parent looking for a preschool, or a business owner listing a shop.
For privacy questions, write to contact@localbusinessdirectory.in.
What information we collect
We collect information in three ways: what you give us, what your browser shares automatically, and what we receive from business owners about their own listings.
Information you give us directly
Contact form. If you write to us through the contact page, we receive your name, your email address, your phone number if you add one, and the message itself. We use this only to reply to you.
Business submissions. If you submit a business through the "Add your business" form, we receive the details you enter: the business name, address, locality, category, phone number, email, website, opening hours, a description, and the name and contact details of the person submitting. Most of this is meant to be public once your listing is approved. Your own contact details as the submitter are not.
Reviews. If you leave a review of a listed business, we receive the review text, your rating, and the name you choose to show. Reviews go through moderation before they appear. Only approved reviews are published.
Admin accounts. A small number of people, mainly the site owner, sign in to the admin area. For them we store a login identity and a password hash. Ordinary visitors never have an account.
Information collected automatically
When you load a page, your browser sends our server some technical details. These include your IP address, browser type and version, device type, the page you asked for, the page that referred you, and the date and time of the request. Any web server sees this. We use it to deliver pages, spot abuse, and fix errors.
We also use Google Analytics 4, set up through Google Tag Manager, to understand how people use the site. It records things like which pages are viewed, roughly how long visits last, the general area a visit comes from (city or region level), the type of device, and how visitors arrived, such as from Google Search or a direct link. It does not tell us your name.
Information about businesses Most listings on this site are about businesses, not individuals. A listing usually shows a business name, address, phone number, website and a description. Some of this comes from the business owner. Some comes from public sources, such as a business's own website or its public Google Business Profile, gathered by us and written up in our own words.
Small businesses are often run by one person, so a business phone number can also be a personal number. If that describes you and you want a listing changed or removed, see "Your rights and choices" below. We will act on it.
What we do not collect We do not collect payment card details, because we do not take payments on this site. We do not ask for government ID numbers, bank details, or passwords for any other service. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has sent us personal information, tell us and we will delete it.
Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Here is what ours do.
Session cookie. Some parts of the site, such as the contact form, the add-business form and the admin area, start a short session so that we can protect the form from forged submissions and show you a confirmation message after you send it. This cookie is named lbd. It holds a random identifier, not your name or email. Simple browsing of directory pages does not set it.
Analytics cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies, such as _ga, so it can tell one visit from another and count returning visitors. These are placed by Google's scripts. You can block or delete them through your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Tag Manager. Google Tag Manager loads the analytics tag. It does not itself collect personal data, but it does run on every page.
Page caching. To keep the site fast, we store finished copies of some pages on our server and serve those to visitors who are not signed in and have no session. A cached page contains no personal information about any visitor.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. If you block them, directory pages will still work. The contact and add-business forms may not, because they depend on the session cookie for security.
How we use your information
We use personal information only for reasons we can name.
• To answer you. A message through the contact form gets a reply from a person. • To publish and maintain listings. We review each submission, check it looks genuine, and publish or reject it. We may contact the submitter to confirm a detail, such as an address or phone number, before a listing goes live. • To moderate reviews. We read each review to filter spam, abuse, and reviews that name private individuals. • To keep the site secure. We use IP addresses and request logs to detect bots, repeated form abuse, and attempts to break in. • To improve the site. Analytics tells us which categories and areas people actually search, which pages fail to help, and which are slow. That shapes which businesses we add next and which pages we fix. • To meet legal duties. Where a law or a valid legal order requires us to keep or share information, we do so.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that affect you, and we do not build advertising profiles of individual visitors.
Who we share information with We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent it out.
We do use a small number of service providers who handle data on our behalf. They can use it only to provide their service to us.
Google provides Analytics, Tag Manager and Search Console. Google receives the visit data described above. Google's own privacy policy governs how it handles that data. We also use Google Search Console data to see which searches lead people to us. That data is aggregated and does not identify you. Social and profile links. We link to our Facebook page and our Google Business Profile. If you click through, those services collect their own data under their own policies. We do not embed tracking widgets from them on directory pages.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, for example in response to a court order or a request from a competent government authority, or if we need to protect our rights, our users, or the public from fraud or abuse. Where we are allowed to, we will limit what we hand over to what the request actually requires.
If the site is ever sold or transferred to a new owner, the information described here may transfer with it. We would tell you and this policy would continue to apply until updated.
What is public
Listings are public by design. Anything a business puts in its listing description, its address, its public phone number, its website, and its approved reviews can be read by anyone and indexed by search engines such as Google and Bing. Once a page is indexed, other sites may keep a copy even after we remove ours. Please think before you put anything in a public field that you would not want shared.

Advertising
At present this site is funded by its owner. We may, in future, show advertising, such as Google's display ads, to help cover running costs. If we do, the advertising provider may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. We will update this policy before that happens, and we will explain how to control ad personalisation through Google's Ads Settings. Paid placements, if we ever offer them, will be labelled as such and will not be presented as reviews.

How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as we need it for the reason we collected it, and no longer. Type of information How long we keep it Contact form messages Up to 24 months after we last correspond with you Business submissions that were rejected Up to 12 months, then deleted Published business listings While the listing is live, and until the owner asks us to remove it Approved reviews While the related listing is live, or until you ask for removal Server access logs Up to 90 days Google Analytics data 14 months, which is the retention setting we use Admin account records While the person still needs access If something in this table is shorter than a legal duty we owe, the legal duty wins.

How we protect information
We take reasonable steps to protect what you send us. The site runs over HTTPS and sends standard security headers. Forms are protected against forged submissions. Database and cloud credentials are kept out of the public web folder and are changed when there is any reason to doubt them. Admin access requires a login, and we keep the number of people with access small. Nothing that travels over the internet is perfectly safe, and we cannot promise absolute security. If we learn of a breach that puts your personal information at real risk, we will tell affected people and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

Your rights and choices
India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives people rights over their personal data, and we honour them for everyone, whether or not you live in India. Depending on your situation, you can ask us to: 1. Tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use it. 2. Correct information that is wrong or out of date. 3. Delete your personal information, where we have no legal reason to keep it. 4. Withdraw a consent you gave us earlier, such as consent to publish your details in a listing. 5. Route a grievance to the right person and get a response.
To use any of these, write to contact@localbusinessdirectory.in from the email address you used with us, and tell us which page or listing you mean. We may ask you to confirm who you are before we change or remove anything, so that nobody can take down someone else's listing by pretending to be them. We aim to reply within 7 days and to complete the request within 30 days.
If you own a listed business and want it corrected or removed, include the business name, the page address, and a way for us to confirm you are connected to it. Removal is free.
If you are a reviewer and want your review changed or deleted, send us the business name and the approximate date you posted it.
If you are named in a listing or review and did not agree to it, tell us. We will remove personal details about private individuals quickly.

Grievance officer
If you are unhappy with how we handled your information, or with a reply to a request, you can contact our grievance officer directly. Name: Amit Kumar Email: contact@localbusinessdirectory.in Address: Connaught Place, Delhi

Links to other websites
Listings often link to a business's own website or social profile. Those sites are run by other people and have their own privacy practices. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they do with your data. If you fill in a form on a listed business's site, you are giving your information to that business, not to us.
We take care to link only to real businesses, but we cannot check every page on every outside site. If you find a link that seems unsafe or misleading, please tell us.
________________________________________
Children
This site is meant for adults looking for local services. It is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Some listings, such as preschools and coaching institutes, serve children, but those listings are written for parents and guardians. If a parent or guardian believes a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
________________________________________
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the site changes, for example when we add a new feature, change a service provider, or begin showing ads. The date at the top of the page always shows the latest revision. For material changes, we will place a notice on the homepage for at least 30 days. If you keep using the site after an update, you accept the revised policy. If you do not agree with a change, please stop using the site and contact us to have your information removed.
