Play Schools & Daycare in Karol Bagh

Karol Bagh is one of central Delhi's busiest neighbourhoods, with crowded markets, family-run businesses and residential lanes packed close together. For many families here, both parents work long hours, often in the family shop or office, and a good play school or daycare close to home is a practical need rather than a luxury.

Play schools usually take children from around two years of age in playgroup, followed by nursery-level classes, and focus on language, early numbers, motor skills and getting used to a group setting through play. Daycare is a different service: it looks after children for longer hours on working days, often including meals, nap time and supervised activities. Many centres offer both, so you can start with a few hours of play school and add daycare hours if you need them.

Fees depend on the number of hours, the age group, whether meals are provided, the size of the classrooms and outdoor area, and how many teachers and helpers look after each group. Ask for the full fee structure in writing, including any admission charge, annual or activity charges, and the extra cost for daycare hours, so there are no surprises later.

Visit while classes are running, not just during an admission tour. Watch how teachers speak to the children and how many children each adult is looking after. Check safety carefully: a controlled entrance, CCTV that parents can ask about, child-safe furniture and electrical points, clean toilets sized for small children, and a strict rule that children are handed over only to authorised adults. Ask how the centre handles a child who falls ill during the day and how it communicates with parents.

Remember that a play school is separate from nursery admission to a formal school, which follows its own process in Delhi. The listings below show play schools and daycare centres serving Karol Bagh, with addresses and contact numbers, so you can arrange visits before deciding.
